Detling Players

bring King Lear

into the 21st

century.

The award winning Detling Players company are taking on another ambitious challenge by choosing to perform King Lear in the Detling Village Hall in April.  Although it was written in 1603 by Shakespeare, King Lear is incredibly relevant today. As a result the Players will be performing in modern dress and the topical themes of Brexit, old age, dementia and inequality will be central to their interpretation. King Lear is one of the most challenging parts an actor can perform and the Players are very lucky that David Vale, an ex member and a professional actor has agreed to take the role. The production will be on April 27th at 7:30 pm with reduced ticket prices for students. Friday the 28th and two performances on the 29th at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm.   For tickets call the Box Office on 07842 169725 For more information call Richard Finn on 07802 316891
