2nd November 2018 Detling Players Film Club present this classic, hilarious film. Two stranded travellers find themselves at the mercy of an eccentric doctor and his mad guests. Visitors are encourage to dress up and sing along to the well-known songs. Refreshments available.

15-17th November By Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay Detling Village Hall The Detling Players present an adaptation of one of the episodes of this hilarious TV series. Prime Minister Jemima Hacker and her Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby are back, spinning out of control through the collapsing euro and austerity measurers in a world of 24 hour news, mobile phones and ‘sexed up dossiers’. With the country on the brink of financial meltdown the PM is staring disaster in the face with her only apparent salvation in a morally dubious deal with the Foreign Minister of Kumranistan. Will Jemima Hacker and her team of advisors be able to rescue the coutnry from the edge?

Voice workshop

entitled “No need to

shout”

Date: Saturday 27th October Time 4:00 pm for a 4:15 pm start 1st half 4:15 - 5:15pm approx. Refreshment break 5:15 - 5:45 pm Recommence until approx 6:30pm. The cost of the workshop will be £5 per head this to include refresments. David Vale was a late starter in acting. He was 40 when he started “amdram” with various groups around Maidstone. Aged 56, he trained at The London Centre for Theatre Studies. Voice training here was under the distinguished voice teacher Margaret Braund, who had previously established the first course for professional voice teachers at The Royal Central School. He has around 40 professional credits, which include working in the West End and on major tours. Partricular tests of his vocal training include a couple of 2,000 seat theatres and an outdoor tour with The British Shakespeare Company.
