Our Christmas show: The Great Christmas Cracker Heist
It’s cracking! A Christmas comedy that goes off with a bang.
This November the Players bring you The Great Christmas Cracker Heist, a comedy by Jamie Lakritz. Everyone at DG Crackers is looking forward to their Christmas bonus and the staff party. But things aren’t going as well as they seem at DG, so the staff take steps to get the money they’re banking on.
Auditions are over, the cast has been chosen and rehearsals are well under way. Our elves are already up to mischief. Meet them on our home page!
When: Thursday 19 & Friday 20 November at 7.30pm, and Saturday 21 November at 2.30pm and 7.30pm
Where: Detling Village Hall, Detling, Maidstone ME14 3EY

June 2025 – Detling Players AGM
Detling Players AGM took place last evening 18/06/2025 and was followed by a MOST ENTERTAINING quiz. Many HUGE thanks to Rachael Thomas-Day for organising the quiz for us. There was wine, laughter and nibbles. Ultimately, after MUCH merriment, there was a Winning Team: Clare & Sam, a Team that won the wooden spoon: Laura and Sandra and several teams in-between.
Always a GOOD TIME TO BE HAD AT A DETLING PLAYERS SOCIAL EVENT.
August 2024 – Donation to Demelza House
Our April production this year was’ Travels with an Old Bag’ – An evening of comedy, drama and music. The two performances were well received by enthusiastic audiences and a good time was had by all.
What made the whole enterprise even better was, that over the two evenings, we succeeded in raising just over £900 for the Demelza House charity.
A (literally) large cheque was presented to a representative from the charity at our summer garden party on 18th August.

Detling Players Applauds
Celebrating the achievements of our members and of other groups nearby.
July 2024: A BIG round of applause for Four Doors Productions, a new company who entered the 2024 Duncan Rand One Act Play Festival and achieved 3rd place. They also won ‘best costume’ and three merit awards. A terrific result for a new group.
Detling Players members Dave Wilson and Sam Tunstill-Baldock were closely involved. Dave directed and Sam gave a great performance on stage.
The play, ‘Opening a Fuzzwallops sort of Mind’, was described by our Secretary, Gill Munson, as ‘unusual and thought-provoking’.
